Millwrights, Senior and Junior: Automated Distribution Centre Build (Pitt Meadows, BC)

This job is not for the faint of heart. Expect 11-hour days, 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday) for the length of the project. Overtime is paid after 8 hours in a day and after 40 hours in a week, so the paycheques reflect the effort. We're hiring skilled millwrights to help assemble and commission automated sortation machines at a new distribution centre in Pitt Meadows, BC. This is a 3.5-month project running December 1, 2026 to March 15, 2027, with Christmas to New Year's off.

Senior Millwrights (Crew Leads)

  • Lead and oversee crews of junior millwrights during assembly
  • Track incoming material and make sure parts are counted and ready for production
  • Do basic wiring, connecting scan tunnels and long-return and short-return sections, and routing cable through the wireway to the main control panel
  • Anchor control panels, modules, walls and scan tunnel sections

Junior Millwrights (Apprentice to Mid-Level). Apprentices welcome.

  • Handle all bolt-up work and mechanical assembly of sortation machines
  • Test and troubleshoot machinery
  • Work carefully on precise, low-torque fasteners that strip easily, since these machines use much smaller components than typical material handling systems

Tools you'll use: standard hand tools, 1/4" impact drivers, hammer drills for anchoring, and basic wiring and cable-pulling tools.

What we're looking for

  • A millwright, machine assembly or basic electrical background
  • Red Seal millwright certification preferred for senior roles; apprentices welcome for junior roles
  • Sharp attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 50 lb and stay on your feet most of the day
