Structural Design Engineer

A leading Canadian engineering consulting firm is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join its growing Structural team. The firm provides multidisciplinary services across structural engineering, restoration, capital planning, building envelope, mechanical, electrical, accessibility, and energy optimization, with a strong focus on collaboration and technical excellence.

You will work on institutional, commercial, and residential projects, including both new builds and existing building assessments. 

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural systems for new builds, renovations, and restoration projects
• Conduct assessments of existing buildings and develop engineering solutions
• Prepare structural calculations, reports, specifications, and construction documents
• Conduct site reviews and provide construction-phase support
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, clients, and internal teams
• Support project planning, budgeting, and delivery
• Participate in client meetings and maintain strong client relationships
• Mentor junior staff as needed

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural focus)
• 2–5+ years of structural design experience in consulting
• Experience with institutional, commercial, or residential buildings
• Strong knowledge of structural design principles, materials, and codes
• Proficiency with ETABS, S-Frame, spSlab (or similar) and AutoCAD/Revit
• Valid driver’s license and access to transportation
• P.Eng. (or working toward / eligible for registration with PEO, EGBC, APEGA, or equivalent)
