Maintenance Specialist
Location: Val-d’Or, QC
We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Specialist to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability of specialized analytical equipment used in the mining industry. The successful candidate will provide technical support to customers, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment issues to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment issues.
- Provide technical support to customers on-site, by phone, email, and remotely.
- Assist with equipment installations, commissioning, and testing.
- Train customers on safe equipment operation and basic maintenance.
- Maintain service records, technical documentation, and spare parts inventory.
- Collaborate with internal teams and international partners to resolve technical issues.
- Follow health and safety procedures and travel as required.
Qualifications
- College diploma in Mechatronics, Electromechanics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Approximately 2-3 years of experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, or field service.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, electronic, or electromechanical systems.
- Customer service experience in a technical environment.
- Mining or industrial experience is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Fluency in both English and French is required.
- Valid driver's licence and legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Willingness to travel within Canada and internationally as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary of $70,000-$75,000 annually.
- 10% Short-Term Incentive (STI), subject to eligibility and plan terms.
- Canada Life extended health benefits after three months of probation.
- GRSP with employer matching contributions of up to 5%.
