Our client is a leading multinational supplier of equipment to the food processing industry. They are currently looking for a field service technician to service their clients primarily in the GTA and other parts of Ontario.
They will provide the use of a company vehicle along with an extremely competitive compensation package.
Candidates who come from a meat processing or food production background will be the best immediate fit; however, if you can demonstrate strong electrical and/or millwright experience in a similar role or industry you will be considered as well.
The position involves travel 80% of the time; mostly in the GTA and surrounding areas with some trips across Canada if required. Normal business hours are Monday to Friday daytime hours, but you should have a flexible schedule to accommodate after-hours and weekend work when required with overtime compensation.
They provide training locally and periodically overseas at corporate headquarters in Europe and the US.
To be considered for this position you should have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a customer facing service technician ideally in a food processing/production or similar industry. The position involves machine installations, training customers on usage and maintenance along with routine and emergency service and repairs. You will need to have a strong customer service mentality with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) along with a keen eye for details, ability to work under pressure and changing deadlines.
You will need to be legally entitled to work in Canada and as the position requires travel overseas periodically you should have a valid passport and ability to travel.
Due to the operational requirements, you should also be fully Covid-19 vaccinated.
