Senior Automation Engineer – RELOCATE TO BC!

We are seeking an Allen Bradley programming expert with 10+ years of industrial automation experience within a fast paced, fully automated production environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our client’s esteemed Projects Team, the successful candidate will take on a senior role within the group to spearhead electrical/industrial automation projects and sure effective maintenance of electrical systems and equipment within the plants. The Automation Engineer will effectively program, commission, communicate and deliver on objectives with different teams and departments at the same time troubleshooting through sometimes complex issues on multiple projects

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

-Acting as Project Lead within a team of Electricians, Programmers and Automation Specialists

-PLC programming and HMI design (Rockwell Software primarily)

-Participating in the sourcing, pricing, installation, testing and maintenance of production equipment and automated machinery

-Commissioning of automated equipment relating to food processing (conveyors, augers, dryers, packaging machines, silos, cyclones, etc.)

-Demonstrating the ability to work hands on and understand the fundamentals of electrical and mechanical systems

-Providing technical support to operations relating to automation and controls for troubleshooting production equipment, coordinating efforts, and expediting repairs.

We are seeking senior level candidates exclusively, applicants must posses at least a decade of relevant experience, ideally within a similarly fast-paced food production or packaging environment. 

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, hands-on person who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and support the team on the floor when needed. While this is a predominantly project-driven role, the company is growing rapidly and needs somebody flexible and happy to jump in to do maintenance or help other departments.

-10+ years of relevant Industrial programming, electrical and commissioning experience (Allen Bradley)

-Expert knowledge of Industrial Control Panels and Motor Control circuits

-Experience with mechanical and electrical design

-Ability to manage projects and manage tradespeople/contractors effectively

-Strong experience with Microsoft Operating systems and Industrial Networking Protocols

-Candidates familiar with working in fast paced, automated production environments are strongly preferred, petrochemical or heavy industrial experience is not desirable for this particular role.

-Legally entitled to work in Canada with Canadian experience.
