Maintenance Lead

We are seeking a talented millwright or industrial electrician with leadership skills and experience for a growing manufacturer in Calgary, AB.

The Maintenance Lead will be responsible for ensuring that all facility and production equipment is in safe, operational order at all times via effective maintenance techniques, with a focus on Preventative/Predictive maintenance adhering to HACCP, BRC, and SSOP principles.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

-Planning scheduled maintenance of equipment and facility, implementing PM schedules and ensuring buy in from maintenance team members

-Overseeing and executing daily production maintenance operations and respond immediately to trouble calls/respond to breakdowns

-Supervising and scheduling maintenance staff by referring to the daily maintenance checklist, assigning -personnel and resources accordingly.

-Scheduling and overseeing external contractors as required

-Managing parts, inventory and ordering and replacing parts as needed

This is a hands-on leadership role within a collaborative, commercial baking environment. We are seeking candidates with strong electromechanical skills, at least 2 years of experience performing maintenance duties within the food manufacturing space, with a strong preference for individuals with baking experience.

Qualified candidates will possess a mechanical or electrical trade qualification, strong communication and leadership skills, and at least a year of leadership experience within a production maintenance environment.

-Mechanical or Electrical Trade Qualification strongly preferred

-2+ years of maintenance experience within a commercial bakery strongly preferred 

-Leadership skills and experience (minimum 1 years)

-5+ years of production maintenance experience

-Knowledge of HACCP, BRC, SSOP principles

-Legally entitled to work in Canada
