The field service heavy duty technician will work on excavators, haul trucks, articulated haul trucks, wheel loaders, bull dozers, graders, and other commonly used heavy duty construction equipment. They perform repairs and maintenance work to machinery including engine repair and diagnostics, hydraulic system repairs and diagnostics, engine repair and diagnostics, transmission and drive train repairs, emission diagnostic and repairs, as well as electrical diagnostic and repairs.
The ex-factor with field service is the ability to work well with customers and foster a good relationship in the field. To be hired in this role, you need to have excellent customer service skills, ability to see opportunities for service in the field while at work, and have excellent self management skills since you are trusted with a lot of autonomy.
